About the only thing more enjoyable than taking your car out for a cruise is working on it at home. And with so many of us stuck at home these days, you might be anxious for some DIY car projects that can keep you busy.

Below are five easy DIY projects that you can do for your Jag without ever leaving your house.

Give it a maintenance makeover

There are a lot of basic maintenance tasks that we pay technicians to do (or just ignore them all together). These include:

  • Changing the oil
  • Rotating tires
  • Topping off fluids
  • Changing air and oil filters
  • Replacing windshield wipers
  • Checking the battery

None of these jobs are overly difficult, and doing them yourself can save you a bundle. Give your car a DIY maintenance makeover to improve performance and safety while keeping some money in your pocket.

Perform a cosmetic touch up

Small scratches and chips in your paint job can add up to big bucks at a body shop. But there’s a relatively simple DIY solution to give your car a touch up.

Most automotive repair stores sell do-it-yourself kits designed to make simple repairs to minor cosmetic damages. And it’s easy to apply a little touch up paint to any areas that could use it.

Make your own air freshener

Nobody likes riding in a smelly car, and store-bought air fresheners only last so long. Fortunately, you can make your own car air freshener using some essential oils and a few household items. This way, your car will always remind you of home.

Create an emergency kit

Car emergency kits can be bought, but it’s just as easy to throw one together yourself. Some things to include:

  • Warm blanket
  • Flashlight with extra batteries
  • First aid kit
  • Drinking water and non-perishable food
  • Prepaid cell phone
  • Rain poncho
  • Reflective vest and road flares or signals

You can gather up these items in a gym bag and store it in your trunk for an easy DIY road emergency kit.

Give the interior some color

Interior lights help you see your way around in the dark. But you don’t have to settle for boring white light. Add some style to the substance by changing out your dome light and other interior lights for colored bulbs and DIY your way to some personality.
